The Human Services Department is proud to announce that Hannah Voorhar has been selected as the recipient of the Stephen Metzger Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to students who are committed to working in the field and advocating for individuals with disabilities. Hannah received the $1,500 scholarship at the beginning of this semester.
Hannah is a senior in the Human Services program and is completing her senior practicum experience at the Wildwood Adult Education Program. After taking Perspectives on Disabilities in the Fall of 2022, an elective in the department, she knew she wanted to become an advocate for individuals with disabilities.
Hannah completed her first internship experience at Unity House’s Domestic Violence Shelter. She is an outstanding student, who states, “I chose this major because I wanted to be part of creating active change in my community.”
